Genee International Ballet Competition 2010

Sunday, January 23rd, 2011

Towards the end of 2010 I was lucky enough to be asked to film the Genee International Ballet Competition. It’s an annual ballet competition hosted by the Royal Academy of Dance in London.  Directed and Edited by Ilan Goodman, there are a few edits showing the whole competition as the students from around the world compete.  Filmed on location at the RAD, Sadler’s Wells and Laban.

It was filmed on the Sony EX1 with a mixture of zoom and Letus 35mm adapter and primes.  Mainly to cover the documentary action I used zoom since primes are too slow.  The Nikon D7000 was used for the moving shots vertically and horizontally.

Here is a short version offering some highlights.
