Miller Tripods showcase Robert Hollingworth in Antarctica

Monday, October 11th, 2010

I’m a bit of a fan of Miller Tripods. I was an early adopter of their innovative DS20 Solo DV, carbon fibre and unconventional single-leg design for video sticks. Their kit really is superbly designed and indestructible.  I’ve used it on the most extreme shoots I’ve done and you can read a bit about them in my blogs about Antarctica and Nepal.  Miller have done a feature on my Antarctic shoot and I’m currently in the front page of their site.

Robert Hollingworth on set with Shakira

Film set for the interview with Shakira

On Tuesday I was lucky enough to DOP an interview with Shakira for Google / Youtube.  Shakira is adorable; great fun and totally down to earth.  We had about 45 mins to interview her and a couple of hours beforehand to light the room and sort out the various filming issue.  It was a three camera shoot; the master shot on the Sony EX1 with Letus 35mm adapter and Arri / Zeiss prime, the wide 2-shot was on the 5DMKII again with Arri / Zeiss prime and an ultra-wide ‘making-of’ shot from the back of the room was on a Panasonic TM300 mounted on a Glidetrack to give some movement.

What a lovely afternoon it was!
