Travelling light in India with the new Nikon D7000

Thursday, November 11th, 2010

Nikon have loaned me the new D7000 to test out. I’m just boarding my plane to Mumbai and for the first time in years i am travelling unrecognisably light, I’ve left my D3, D2x and D200 at home and I’m here with just the D7000 to shoot video and some stills.

A brief test and I think it’s cleaner, or as clean at 3200 ISO as the D3, so I’m excited about the next week. I’ve got my radio mics and trusty Miller Solo DS20 with me.

I’ll report back with shots from the road.

It’s a delight to have such a light bag for a change!

Filming on location at Sofitel Heathrow for BMW

Monday, October 25th, 2010

Location filming for a series of short films commenced recently in and around London including at the new Sofitel at Heathrow’s Tetminal 5. Filming is on-going and should look good when cut.  I chose LED Panels (1×1 Bi-Color) for the interviews since we had to pack a huge number of interviews into a very short space of time, often while the interviewees were still working.  They’re great lights; colour-mix from tungsten to daylight and dimmerable too.
